Somnambulist is a one man music project that draws influence from a wide range of musical forms; incorporating ideas from different styles of jazz, classical and electronic music into the overall sound.
Starting in 2006, the music has since hugely matured from the standard downtempo electronic sound that once dominated each track. There is a noticeable jazz flavour to every piece and the atmosphere is dark and often melancholic. However some things have remained unchanged since the early days. Despite Somnambulist's music being almost entirely electronic, the intense focus on crafting long and seemingly spontaneous drum patterns in many tracks adds much to the organic and genuine feel of each piece.
Named influences include the likes of polish jazz legend Krzysztof Komeda and the early piano ambience of Erik Satie however there have also been comparisons made to more modern acts such as The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble and Bohren & der club of Gore.
The EP explores and exhibits many corners of the current sound which will, no doubt, evolve considerably in the months and years to come.
